At the Cakes and Desserts with Fruit (2) workshop

Did you know that the pineapple is actually a berry? They are single berries which are connected to the stalk of the fruit. And that the strawberry is a member of the rose family? No, the two fruits are not related, except for the fact that they are berries. And then there are pineberries- white strawberries  that taste like pineapple. Confused?

At this workshop, the fruits used are available almost through the year. Except for the mangoes, but then again, I'm quite sure most people have a stock of frozen mango puree in their freezers by now.

This must be one of the easiest unbaked strawberry cheesecakes ever made. Now, if only there was a method of speeding up the setting process, I'd love to try it.

What's summer without a serving of super silky honeyed mango mousse?

Another stunner is the pineapple delicious. Best served hot with  cold, thick cream.

And not to forget the chocoholics, whole orange and chocolate cupcakes. The ladies were incredulous at the thought of a whole orange going into the batter. But then, it's all about fruit, right?
